ไปวัดวันพระAt the wat on a full-moon day
- เช้า: ทำบุญตักบาตร ใส่บาตรพระที่วัดหรือหน้าบ้านMorning: give food to the monks, at the wat or outside your door.
- หลายคนใส่ชุดขาวหรือชุดสีเรียบ ถือศีลห้า บางคนถือศีลแปดหนึ่งวัน (ไม่กินหลังเที่ยง ไม่ดูหนังฟังเพลงแต่งตัว ไม่นอนที่นอนสูง)Many wear white or plain clothes. People keep five precepts; some keep eight for the day (no food after noon, no shows or make-up, no high soft bed).
- สวดมนต์ ฟังเทศน์ นั่งสมาธิ ถวายสังฆทานChanting, a sermon, meditation, offerings for the monks.
- คืนวันพระใหญ่ (มาฆะ วิสาขะ อาสาฬหะ): เวียนเทียน ถือดอกไม้ 1 คู่ ธูป 3 ดอก เทียน 1 เล่ม เดินตามเข็มนาฬิการอบโบสถ์หรือเจดีย์ 3 รอบ หลายวัดเริ่มราว 4 โมงเย็นถึง 2 ทุ่มOn the big Bucha nights: the candle walk. Carry a pair of flowers, 3 incense sticks and a candle, and walk clockwise round the hall or chedi three times. Many wats hold it between about 4 and 8 pm.
- แต่งตัวปิดไหล่ปิดเข่า ถอดรองเท้าก่อนขึ้นวิหาร ไม่ชี้เท้าไปทางพระพุทธรูป ผู้หญิงไม่แตะตัวพระCover shoulders and knees. Shoes off before a hall. Don't point your feet at a Buddha image. Women don't touch monks.
- บางที่ผู้หญิงเข้าไม่ได้: ใกล้องค์พระธาตุดอยสุเทพ หออินทขิลวัดเจดีย์หลวง และอุโบสถเงินวัดศรีสุพรรณSome places women may not enter: close to the Doi Suthep relic chedi, the city-pillar shrine at Wat Chedi Luang, and the silver ordination hall at Wat Sri Suphan.

วันมาฆบูชา วิสาขบูชา อาสาฬหบูชา เข้าพรรษา และออกพรรษา ห้ามขายเหล้าเบียร์ทั้งวัน (ยกเว้นโรงแรมและสถานบริการที่มีใบอนุญาต สนามบินนานาชาติ)On Makha, Visakha, Asanha, Khao Phansa and Ok Phansa, shops may not sell alcohol all day (licensed hotels, licensed venues and international airport terminals are exempt).
