What it is

A national park straddling the Chiang Mai and Mae Hong Son line, right on Route 1095, with a viewpoint that looks east over cloud at dawn.

The long version

Inference — the rare one on this circuit that is directly on the route rather than up a dead end, which matters because a dawn viewpoint you have to detour to is a dawn you will not see.

The mist is a cool-season, still-air, before-sunrise phenomenon — the same conditions that make Pang Ung work, a hundred kilometres west. From here the sun comes up over the ridges toward Chiang Mai with cloud filling the valleys underneath.

Inference — the arrangement that works is sleeping near the top rather than riding up from Pai in the dark. There is camping and there are park bungalows.

Not on this disk: current fees, bungalow booking or road conditions to the viewpoint.
