The river cut a slot through the rock and the road goes over the top of it.
Catchiangmai · CC BY-SA 4.0What it is
A gorge on the Chaem river in a national park on Route 108, roughly midway between Hot and Mae Sariang.
The long version
Inference — the practical value of this place on a long empty leg is that it exists. The Mae Sariang to Hot run is the emptiest on the circuit, and a gorge with a car park, shade and a bridge over it is the natural break in the middle of three hours.
The gorge itself is narrow and deep and the water goes through it fast; the national park around it covers a much larger area of hill forest.
