What it is
Thailand's non-immigrant visa categories include study, and a registered muay thai school can be the reason for one. This is a long-standing, ordinary arrangement, not a loophole.

Two categories are relevant and they are not the same thing.
Type ED is the study visa — to study; to come on a work study tour or observation tour; to participate in projects or seminars; to attend a conference or training course; to study as a foreign Buddhist monk.

Which one a given school sponsors depends on how that school is registered, and that is the question to ask before paying anyone.
