The foot strokes the face
บาทาลูบพักตร์
The one name in the thirty that says what the movement is.
Fifteen mother techniques and fifteen that come after. Twenty-nine of the thirty are named after something you can picture.
The Thai names and the descriptions beside them are lifted off the Thai Wikipedia article at revision 13177866, which cites the Thai Encyclopedia for Youth. The English gloss and the classification in the last column are this project's reading, marked as inference wherever they appear. The table is printed in full so a reader who would classify a row differently is looking at the same row.
14of thirty
Rama, Hanuman, Thotsakan, Erawan, the nagas. The Ramakien was the state's own narrative property, and the curriculum is built out of it.

Thasao's list is recorded as twelve upper and twelve lower techniques with no names attached. That is what the source carries.
บาทาลูบพักตร์
The one name in the thirty that says what the movement is.

เช็กแข้ง
Lifting the shin to meet an incoming round kick, so that the two bones collide and the thrower takes the worse end.
จระเข้ฟาดหาง
Number nine of the fifteen, and the only one of the thirty whose Thai name is still said out loud in gyms from Sao Paulo to Sheffield.

จับคอตี
Hands locked behind the other man's head, forearms on his collarbones, both men fighting for the inside position — and knees going in the whole time.
หักคอเอราวัณ
The last of the fifteen, and the plainest thing in the sport: the clinch knee, named after killing the mount of a god.

หนุมานถวายแหวน
The only technique named by three of the four regional schools as well as by the standard list. If anything in the curriculum is bedrock, it is this…

ลูกไม้มวยไทย
The second set of fifteen, taught after the first. The Thai encyclopedia's line is that a student works the mae mai before the luk mai will take.

แม่ไม้มวยไทย
The first fifteen named techniques, taught as a set. *Mae* is mother, *mai* is a move; the fifteen that come after are called *luk mai*, child moves.

ทุ่ม
Catching a kick, stepping past a leg, or turning a man out of the clinch so that he lands. Legal here; not legal in most kickboxing rulesets.

เตะเฉียง
The kick the rest of the world copied. Thrown upward at an angle, cutting under the arm and into the ribs, and named for the triangle it travels.

ถีบ
The straight push with the ball or sole of the foot, into the stomach, hip or chest. The article calls it a foot jab and that is what it does: it…
ตบมะผาบ
The Lanna display in which a man slaps his own arms, chest and thighs in a driving rhythm. Thai Wikipedia's article on Lanna performing arts names it…
ย่างสามขุม
Chaiya's first lesson, and the one thing on its list of seven that is not a strike at all.
