What it is

The second of the two ranking stadiums, run by the Royal Thai Army.

The long version

The name is the trap. Lumpinee was built beside Lumpini Park on Rama IV Road and kept the name when it moved out to Ram Intra Road in 2014, seven kilometres north-east. OpenStreetMap has it at 13.867, 100.609, which is the new site; a taxi told "Lumpinee" may take you to the park.

The army connection is not decorative. A ranking stadium in Thailand is an institution with a licence, a gambling floor and an owner, and the two that matter are held by the army and by a company on a royal avenue.
