Ninth and last ruler of Chiang Mai, 1911–1939. He cut the first sod of the Doi Suthep road in 1934, and the Ping bridge at the foot of Tha Phae Road carries his name: a teak bridge from about 1890, a steel one opened 1923 after the wooden one burned, and the present concrete one opened 26 December 1967.
