What it is

North out of Mae Chaem. Relevant to this circuit only as part of the 1263 shortcut's eastern exit.

The long version

Inference — if you have taken the 1263 cut you arrive at Mae Chaem with a choice, and this is one arm of it: north and over the Doi Inthanon side before dropping to Chom Thong on Route 108. Measured off OSM the run is about 32 kilometres with 96 curves at a 25-degree threshold, ten of them hairpins.

It is high, it is cold in the morning, and it puts the highest point in Thailand within reach of a detour.
