The amphetamine-family medicine a doctor at home prescribes as a matter of routine sits, in Thai law, on the same list as the street tablet — while the street tablet is the cheap and available thing. So the lawful channel is narrower than people expect and the unlawful one is wider than it should be. That asymmetry is what information can actually fix. Knowing where that lawful channel runs, and that it exists, is worth a great deal.
